Addressing the complex issues encountered by justice-involved individuals requires compassionate leaders equipped with the critical skills needed to build pathways of success. The Master of Administration in Justice-Involved Care is an innovative online program geared toward students interested in working with justice involved individuals to advance health equity.

Who

The target audience for this innovative program will possess an undergraduate degree from an accredited college/academic institution. Individuals with degrees in Criminal Justice, Public Health, Business, and Social Work are strongly encouraged to apply. This specialized learner must demonstrate a self-motivated passion to become a change agent that will work with justice-involved individuals and their families.

What

The MAJIC program consists of 35-credit hours focusing on incarcerated care and public policy. The curriculum ensures that all degree recipients are proficient in the community-focused work that undergirds the MSM health equity social mission. Additional requirements of the MAJIC program consist of an 80-hour virtual practicum  coupled with an integrated learning experience.  These requirements ensure that students have the practical, research, communication and professional skills necessary to become leaders in the correctional health profession.

Why

Research shows that the rate of incarceration continues to rise exponentially. A lack of support addressing the social and mental needs of offenders contributes to a vicious cycle of reincarceration.The MAJIC program will train students on how to reduce recidivism, promote rehabilitation, encourage restoration, and ensure transformation of justice-involved individuals.
