Danae Evans, M.D.

Dr. Danae Evans received her degree in medicine from Emory University in 2009.  She went on to complete General Psychiatry residency (2013) and Child & Adolescent Psychiatry fellowship (2014) at Emory University School of Medicine.  She is board certified in both areas by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.  After her training, she worked for several years in college student mental health at the Georgia Institute of Technology.  She joined the faculty at Morehouse School of Medicine in January 2023 as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences and as the Director of Behavioral Health for the Atlanta University Center Consortium Student Health and Wellness Center (AUCC SHWC).  At the AUCC SHWC, she cares for students from Clark Atlanta University, Morehouse College, Morehouse School of Medicine, and Spelman College.

Dr. Evans became the Program Director for the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship Program in July 2023.  She is honored to be a part of training the next generation of Child and Adolescent psychiatrists in the state of Georgia.  She is a member of the American Psychiatric Association (APA), the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (AACAP), Black Psychiatrists of America (BPA), the Georgia Psychiatric Physicians Association (GPPA), and the Georgia Council on Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (GCCAP).  She participated in the Georgia Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental Disabilities (GA LEND) program through the Georgia State University Center for Leadership in Disability from 2022 to 2023.
