OCTOBER 23, 2019 - The Kennedy-Satcher Center for Mental Health Equity in the Satcher Health Leadership Institute at Morehouse School of Medicine works collaboratively toward equal treatment of mental health and substance use disorders through targeted efforts to aggregate and elevate parity implementation, conduct research that informs mental health policy, and engage key stakeholders to advance mental and behavioral health equity.

Maternal Mortality Fears Hit Close to Home for MSM Employee
OCTOBER 16, 2019 - Tara Joyner, a manager in administrative services at MSM, experienced complications that threatened the lives of both her and her unborn child. She shared the story of her risky pregnancy with Fox 5 News' Medical Team. Joyner suffered from preeclampsia during her pregnancy with her fourth child. MSM's Obstetrics and Gynecology Director Franklyn Geary, MD provided insight into the medical risks of preeclampsia for this story.

OCTOBER 16, 2019 - Morehouse School of Medicine celebrated its neighbors at MSM's Annual Community Engagement Day (CED) on Saturday, Oct. 12. CED first began in 2014 shortly after Valerie Montgomery Rice, MD, was announced as the sixth president of the school. Years later, MSM continues to provide health screenings, talk about important medical and political issues, and bring fun and educational activities.
