Department of Medical Education

Established in 1991, the Department of Medical Education coordinates interdisciplinary courses and participates in faculty development, curriculum and student evaluation and provision of general support of the overall educational program.

The mission of the department is to support the faculty and educational programs by making available resources to improve the educational environment aiding in the process of evaluation and assessment, guiding curricular development and review, teaching students and colleagues and supporting faculty development and career advancement.

Faculty members in the department are actively involved in teaching and teaching administration. They are involved in leading the Fundamentals of Medicine 1, 2, and 3 sequence courses, coordinating the first-year curriculum, teaching pathophysiology and directing the Standardized Patient Program and the Clinical Skills Center.
