SHWC Behavioral Health Services

Behavioral Health is integral to our total wellness.  While as important as one’s physical health, behavioral health can often carry a stigma, resulting in an avoidance of mental health care. At the Student Health and Wellness Center (SHWC), addressing the behavioral health needs of students is a priority. In support of MSM’s health equity mission, SHWC now offers onsite behavioral health services. Behavioral Health Services is prepared to address a wide range of behavioral health challenges including anxiety, depression, and trauma to guide students in developing lifelong, healthy coping skills. Contact our office at 404-756-1241 to schedule your confidential session.

Our therapists are licensed professionals who draw upon a wide range of training and experiences in the field of psychotherapy.  SHWC Behavioral Health Services providers will conduct an initial assessment followed by the implementation of an individualized treatment plan that addresses the student’s unique needs and concerns. This plan may include recommendations such as, but not limited to, brief individual therapy, psychoeducation groups, referrals to community providers for specialized treatment/longer-term support, case management services, and psychiatry.

For access to services and immediate crisis help, please call the Georgia Crisis & Access Line (GCAL) at 1-800-715-4225, available 24/7.
