The Morehouse School of Medicine's Section of Geriatrics is comprised of board certified specialists who provide consultation and primary geriatrics care services centering on ambulatory care in the Emma R. Darnell Geriatrics Clinic at Grady Hospital.

The goals of our section are:

  1. To deliver quality geriatrics care to older patients with functional limitation, frailty, cognitive impairment, and dementia.
  2. To provide training to medical students, interns, and residents that will teach them competency in the care of older adults and prepare them for fellowships in geriatric medicine.
  3. To collaborate in scholarly efforts in order to contribute to the knowledge and understanding of successfully addressing functional decline and health disparities experienced by older minority elders.
